Terms and conditions

Last updated 2 November 2026.

These terms apply to everyone who uses Nikkah (nikkah.co.za), including applicants, family representatives and matchmakers. By creating an account you agree to them, to the member conduct rules, and to how we handle information as described in the privacy notice.

1. Who we are

Nikkah is operated by Raazfar Digital, a sole proprietorship in South Africa (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at [email protected].

2. What Nikkah is

Nikkah is a matrimonial introduction platform. It helps Muslims, mainly in South Africa, find suitable marriage prospects through individual, family-managed and matchmaker-managed profiles. It is not a dating or chat service, and we don’t arrange marriages, give religious rulings, or act as a wali or marriage officer.

3. Who may use it

4. Accounts

Keep your password private; you’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it. Matchmaker accounts must be approved by our team before profiles can be submitted.

5. Profiles made for someone else

If you create or manage a profile for another person, you confirm that they have given you permission, that they know they can withdraw it at any time, and that you will remove the profile promptly if they do. Matchmakers also accept responsibility for the accuracy of the information they submit. The applicant may link their own account to confirm the profile, withdraw permission, or ask us to remove it, even without an account, using our withdrawal form.

6. Verification and moderation

We check profiles before they appear and may ask for an identity document and verification photographs. We may approve, reject, ask for changes to, suspend or remove any profile, and warn, suspend or close any account, if we believe these terms or the conduct rules have been broken or members’ safety is at risk. We’ll give a reason, and you may appeal within 30 days. Appeals are decided by a different moderator.

Verification confirms that an identity document matches the applicant. It does not mean we vouch for anyone’s character, intentions, religious practice, health, finances or suitability for marriage.

7. Introductions

Introduction requests can be accepted, declined or answered with a request for more information. Contact details are shared with both sides once an introduction is accepted. Introductions have limits and expiry dates, which we may change. Messages within an introduction are for arranging the next step respectfully; moderators may read them when investigating a report.

8. Your own care and judgement

Please involve your family, make your own enquiries, take your time, meet in safe and appropriate settings, and never send money to someone you’ve met online. We aren’t responsible for what members do outside Nikkah, or for the outcome of any introduction or marriage.

9. Cost, payments, refunds and cancellation

10. Your content

You keep ownership of what you upload. You allow us to store it and show it to approved members according to your privacy settings, and to moderators, for as long as the profile exists. Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to share.

11. Availability and liability

We work to keep Nikkah available and secure, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by other members. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law that can’t be limited.

12. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time. We may close accounts that break these terms. Some records are kept after deletion, as explained in the privacy notice.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you when you next sign in. Continuing to use Nikkah means you accept the updated terms.

14. Law

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa.
