Member conduct rules
Last updated 1 November 2026.
Nikkah is a place to seek marriage with dignity. By joining, you agree to these rules. They apply to applicants, family representatives and matchmakers.
1. Marriage only
Use Nikkah only to look for a spouse, for yourself or, with permission, for someone you represent. It isn’t for dating, casual chat, business, recruitment or promoting anything.
2. Be truthful
- Give accurate information, including marital status, children and, where relevant, existing marriages.
- Use real, recent photographs of the applicant. No filters, misleading edits or AI-generated images.
- One profile per person. Don’t create profiles for people who haven’t given permission.
3. Respect consent and privacy
- A profile made for someone else needs their permission, and they can withdraw it at any time.
- Don’t copy, screenshot or share other members’ information or photographs outside Nikkah.
- Don’t ask for or post contact details in profile text or opening messages. Contact details are shared with both sides once an introduction is accepted.
- Never share another wife’s or family member’s contact details without their consent.
4. Be respectful
- Speak with courtesy and modesty. No harassment, pressure, insults or inappropriate content.
- Accept a “no” graciously. Don’t contact someone again after they’ve declined, closed an introduction or blocked you.
- Don’t ask anyone for money, gifts or financial details.
- Nikkah doesn’t favour or promote any religious group over another. Members describe their own views; don’t argue about, mock or pressure anyone over theirs.
5. Report problems
If something feels wrong, use the report button on the profile or introduction. Reports are confidential.
What happens if rules are broken
Depending on what happened, moderators may send a warning, suspend an account for a period, permanently close it, or remove a profile. Each decision has a reason you can see. You can appeal within 30 days, and a different moderator will review it.
